We intended staying for 2 nights and enjoyed it so much we stayed for 7. The owners are friendly and helpful and the restaurant is excellent serving specialities such as lamb roasted in outdoor ovens and Wagyu steak; delicious and good value. The shower facilities may be a little tired but they are clean and the water lovely and hot. Small on site shop and fresh bread even in low season. A short walk away is the delightful old village of Castrojeriz with a few bars, restaurants and shops.
We intended to stay here for 2 nights and stayed for 7!! That says it all really. A delightfully rustic site with a beautiful view of the castle, owned by a lovely family and their beautiful dog Moro who helps where he can! The village is a few minutes walk away with a few bars, restaurants and food shops. Being on the Camino trail there were plenty of pilgrims walking through and the atmosphere was great. We ate in the campsite restaurant three times - the traditional lamb cooked in outdoor ovens, the Wagyu beef steaks and Wagyu burgers. All were delicious and great value. We will definitely return here and were sad to leave.
We spend 2 nights here we would definitely stay longer next time. Lovely quiet site . The family were very helpful and friendly and the food and service in the restaurant was very good the lamb is lovely not to be missed our dog enjoyed the scraps not that there were many. The little town is lovely typically Spanish we met lots of people walking the Camino.
We worth a visit if you are in the Burgos area.
Very friendly helpful couple. Clean facilities.
Able to offer local wine and food in restaurant. Small shop.
Lovely town, surroundings. Quiet. Lots of birds.
Only issue is limited internet and WiFi.
We were welcomed at this small campsite and were able to chose our own pitch. All are marked and have hedging and trees. Great view of the castle from the site. The town is a few minutes walk away and has several restaurants and a few shops. We ate at the campsite two nights, firstly for the slow roast lamb and then the paella. The owners are very hands on, approachable and knowledgeable about the area. The toilet facilities could do with a bit of an upgrade but apart from that this site is highly recommended.
One of our favourite camp sites in Spain. Friendly and helpful staff, lovely location and an easy walk into the village along the Camino de Santiago. We return as often as we can.
Pleasant campsite with good facilities and excellent restaurant. Very friendly staff. Bird watching available.
This small site had lovely flat pitches, with plenty of room and privacy. The facilities were very good with plenty of hot water and good laundry facilities. The small restaurant was an added bonus with a friendly informal atmosphere and excellent value for money. The lamb was very good and the Wagyu beef was excellent as was the wine. The owners were very friendly and helpful at all times. There was easy access for walking around the town and up to the castle. In the river valley beyond we saw several pairs of Marsh harriers. Well worth a visit to this spot.
This is a delightful rural site in a very old village overlooked by a n ancient castle. It is quiet and peaceful yet offers all we needed. The family who run the site will do all they can to make your stay a pleasant experience & I can wholeheartedly recommend the lamb roasted in the outside oven. Would happily return here.
A small family run site in a quiet location alongside the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route. Owners were keen to help. Son spoke English, father not but he was very keen on wildlife and offered trips out in 4 wheel drive to see local birdlife- he went out of his way when on his way to an appointment, seeing us emerging from a track after searching for bee eaters. He got us to follow him to correct place, then went on his way.
Pitches were well shaded with room for caravan and awning. Although showers were push button type the water was hot and adequate. Washing machines worked well.
Other English on site had returned after previous visits and we intend to return too.
