Many people like us return here year after year. It has all we need in quiet beautiful surroundings. Stays cool in the height of summer. Pool and facilities immaculate and the staff are friendly and helpful. We always look forward to going back.

After spending the last 5 years touring France with our 10 year old motorhome, we found Le Grand Large at Les Pieux by accident when SatNatv let us down en route to somewhere else, and what serendipity as this site has become our favourite out of more than 50. You receive a friendly welcome from the owners and the whole place has a proper \"camping feel\" even though they do have the fixed chalets as well. The site is right on the beach and on a clear day you can see Jersey. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and the air fresh and breezy. High on my list of priorities is an indoor pool with graduated steps and a handrail - both a first and found here at Le Grand Large. As I have walking difficulties I quite often cannot get into swimming pools because they either have ladders or steps with no handrail, so this place was a real find. Also I like to have separate facilities for men and women. Not only did Le Grand Large have both, and immaculately clean, but also a roomy disabled toilet and shower with easy access from outside. The restaurant looked nice and they do takeaways too. So all in all we found this site to be absolute perfect ` the firs time we have been able to say that about any campsite in France!

Great site with comfort pitch facilities. Wifi is obtainable but nearly 7euros for two hours, very expensive. I just used 3G. The site area to the beach great. The whole area great. If I had family again I would come here with them. Great. However to to lack of wifi I can only give it 85%. The site has great bar etc and the pools brilliant.

We had 2 weeks at this site & found everything very good. We had a comfort pitch, as we had an 8 mtr touring caravan, which saved us having to fill our water barrels & emptying the waste. The very very large beach was just a stones throw away. The site was very clean & well kept, there were only a couple of drawbacks, which I will mention later. The swimming pool was excellent, as were the showers & changing rooms, plenty of information in the reception.
Now the bad points. Our last evening was disturbed at 10.30 pm when 2 familes arrived & pitched tents right opposite us, slamming doors & banging till almost 2 am. Was told nobody could get vehicles onsite after10pm ??? Just as well I had a motor mover on my caravan otherwise I would not have been able to get it out, due to the way the 2 pitches opposite had been occupied. The other bad thing was the cost of Wi-Fi at 6 euros for 2 HOURS. Also you lost time when you logged out & back in again.

Pitches separated by hedges the site was very clean as was the sanitary areas. New indoor pool for 2012 heated to 25 degrees outdoor pool and paddling pool for children, direct access to the beach the Channel Islands can be seen, fantastic sunsets on an evening.
A number of small villages are within walking distance Le Rozel, Sciotot which can be walked to along the beach both have blue flag accreditation. Supermarkets can be found in Les Pieux, Intermarche, Super U & Lidle although the camp has a small shop for urgent necessities.
Ideal site for relaxation. For the more exegetic: Good cycling base, costal walks.
Normandy Beaches can be visited around 50k from campsite.
Close to ferry port.
Overall: very impressed.
